When I was young I received a birthday card from my father which essentially said
Prayer to GOD
“Give me
The ‘Serenity‘ to accept the things I cannot change,
The ‘Courage‘ to change the things I can, and,
The ‘Wisdom‘ to know the difference”.
As times passed and at moments of self-doubt I encountered another quote from Charles Darwin in ‘The Origin of Species’ which said
“It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change”.
I guess success is about the ability to connect two unrelated things and make sense of it. Well, it stuck me and I adapted the first quote as the ‘Survival Mantra‘ of my life.
Prayer to GOD
“Give me
The ‘Serenity‘ to accept everything,
The ‘Courage‘ to change nothing,
The ‘Wisdom‘ to stay indifferent”.
Stay Tuned and Have fun.
Adaptability is required for all time and environment; whether it is personal or professional lift. Adapt to change: whether it is changing tool, technology, domain; whether it is family environment, among friends, among unknown people. Do not stand with 'what I know'. Try to understand what others speek, pick-up and see what value can be added. Then you are there.
I appreciate your thoughts on this, although it is a very commonly used terms, but practically very few may 'adapt'.
Good.

Selvam
